PM directs to finalize incentive package for special technology zones
- The Prime Minister said that Pakistan has a lot of talent in the IT sector, and was of the view that this talent in the IT sector needs to be nurtured.
The Prime Minister has directed officials to finalize an incentive package for the establishment of special technology zones.
An important meeting on setting up of special technology zones was held under the Chairmanship of Prime Minister Imran Khan. The meeting was attended by Finance Advisor Abdul Hafeez Sheikh, Dr. Waqar Masood, and Governor State Bank of Pakistan (SBP) Reza Baqir.
The Prime Minister said that Pakistan has a lot of talent in the IT sector, and was of the view that this talent in the IT sector needs to be nurtured. He said that talent in the IT sector can meet both the local needs and become a source of exports as well. Furthermore, by promoting the neglected IT sector, the younger generation can benefit.
PM also directed the authorities to provide incentives for special technology zones that would attract foreign investors. He said that many Overseas Pakistani investors want to invest in IT sector.
