KARACHI: On Monday, PKR fell against USD in both interbank and open markets. It however went up against Euro in open market. According to global financial news, USD index bounced up from near 2 1/2 years low as Euro weakened against dollar on account of EU-Britain Brexit deal still hanging in the balance making a disorderly Brexit without a trade deal a possibility.

INTER-BANK MARKET RATES: In the interbank market, Pakistan Rupee lost 20 paisas for buying and selling against USD over last weekend's rates closing at 160.30 and 160.40 respectively.

OPEN MARKET RATES: In the open market, PKR fell 15 paisas for buying and 10 paisas for selling over last weekend's rates closing at 160.25 and 160.50 respectively.

Against Euro, PKR went by 50 paisas for buying and selling closing at 192 and 193.50 respectively.

Against UAE Dirham, PKR fell by 10 paisas for buying and 5 paisas for selling closing at 43.55 and 43.80 respectively.

Against Saudi Riyal, PKR went down by 20 paisas for buying and 10 paisas for selling closing at 42.30 and 42.50 respectively.

RUPEE IN LAHORE: The Pak rupee depreciated its worth in the process of trading against the greenback in the local currency market on Monday.

According to currency dealers, the short supply phenomenon of the greenback prevailed throughout the trading session which helped its appreciation for buying and selling at Rs 160.40 and Rs 161.70 against the previous closing rate of Rs 160.00 and Rs 161.40 respectively.

On the other hand, the rupee managed to recover its earlier losses versus the pound sterling. Consequently, the pound's buying and selling rates declined from last Friday's closing trend of Rs 212.50 and Rs 214.50 to Rs 211.00 and Rs 212.70 respectively, they added.

RUPEE IN ISLAMABAD AND RAWALPINDI: The dollar gained Rs 1 against the rupee at the open currency markets of Islamabad and Rawalpindi here on Monday.

The dollar opened at Rs160.90(buying) and Rs 161(selling) against last rate of Rs 159.90(buying) and Rs 160(selling).

It closed at Rs160.90(buying) and Rs 161(selling).

The buying and selling rates of one tola of gold was Rs. 108,100 (selling) and Rs108,000(buying) at the local Sarafa (gold) markets of twin cities of Islamabad and Rawalpindi.
