The Federal Board of Revenue (FBR) has deputed a special team of tax officials for smooth functioning of the video conferencing facility, implementation of the IT systems and proper usage of biometrics attendance and security systems at the level of the Large Taxpayer Units (LTUs), Regional Tax Offices (RTOs) and Model Customs Collectorates (MCCs). In this connection, the FBR issued a notification here on Thursday.
According to the notification, in light of the decisions made by Payment Recommendation Committee in its meetings, the FBR has appointed co-ordinator/ liaison officers for specified responsibilities. Ardsher Saleem Tariq, Secretary has been given new assignment to ensure proper functioning of Video Conferencing Equipment installed at 29 sites and Data Centers located at Islamabad and Karachi. Fawad Khan Yousafzai, Secretary Information Management System (IMS) would carry out functional monitoring of IT equipment consisting of PCs, Laptops, Fax Machines, Scanners, Network switches etc. Management of Licensed Software issues including SAP Software.
Shahid Soomro, Secretary would be engaged in monitoring operational issues and reporting of progress of utilisation of material management and financial management modules of SAP to Admn Wing. Besides this, he will ensure preparation of record room of Tax Administration Reform Project (TARP) and will oversee its smooth functioning. He will also ensue proper usage of biometrics attendance and security systems procured and installed in RTOs, LTUs and MCCs and Abbas Ahmad Mir, Secretary would also ensure removal of defects/problems relating to works and goods (other than IT) where warranties are valid.
These appointed co-ordinators/Liaison Officers will primarily maintain a close liaison with all field formations/FBR (HQ) to ensure that the systems/equipment installed are working proper and duly utilised. In case any formation is not utilising the system(s), it will be reported to the Admn Wing. The defects reported to the co-ordinators will be addressed in consultation with the concerned quarters ie supplier/Admn Wing etc.
