RAWALPINDI: Chinese Ambassador to Pakistan Nong Rong called on Army Chief General Qamar Javed Bajwa on Monday to discuss various important issues.

According to a statement released by the Inter Services Public Relations (ISPR), the two discussed issues of mutual interest, bilateral cooperation as well as the regional security situation.

Issues pertaining to the China Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC) were also discussed during the meeting.

Referring to the Chinese Defense Minister's visit to Pakistan earlier this month, Army Chief General Bajwa said the agreement signed would further strengthen relations between the two countries. According to ISPR, Chinese Ambassador Nong Rong appreciated Pakistan's role for peace and stability in the region.
