KARACHI: On Monday, on start of the week, Pakistan Rupee lost value against USD in both interbank and open markets despite dollar taking a dip in global currency markets in response to a boost in risk appetite after President Donald Trump signed a Covid-19 aid bill. Pakistan rupee however behaved in line with global markets as it went down against Euro in open market. Euro was up in global markets in light of Brexit deal.

INTER-BANK MARKET RATES: In the interbank market, Pakistan Rupee lost 20 paisas for both buying and selling against USD over last Thursday's rates closing at 160.40 and 160.50 respectively.

OPEN MARKET RATES: In the open market, PKR went down by 20 paisas for both buying and selling over last Thursday's rates closing at 160.40 and 160.70 respectively.

Against Euro, PKR went down by one rupee for both buying and selling closing at 193.50 and 195 respectively.

Against UAE Dirham, PKR lost 10 paisas for both buying and selling closing at 43.70 and 43.90 respectively.

Against Saudi Riyal, PKR lost 5 paisas for buying and 10 paisas for selling closing at 42.35 and 42.60 respectively.

RUPEE IN LAHORE: The Pak rupee depreciated its worth on the buying side while it stayed unchanged on the selling side in relation to the greenback in the local currency market on Monday.

According to currency dealers, the greenback gained 20 paisas for buying and closed at Rs 160.40 against the opening rate of Rs 160.20 whereas it did not observe any change for selling as it firmly ended at Rs 161.50.

Furthermore, the local currency recovered its earlier losses versus pound sterling. As a result, the pound's buying and selling rates declined from the previous closing trend of Rs 215.50 and Rs 217.00 to Rs 214.50 and Rs 216.00 respectively, they added.

RUPEE IN ISLAMABAD AND RAWALPINDI: The rupee recovered 20 paisas against the dollar at the open currency markets of Islamabad and Rawalpindi here on Monday.

The dollar opened at Rs160.80(buying) and Rs 160.90(selling) against last rate of Rs161(buying) and Rs 161.10(selling).

It closed at Rs160.80(buying) and Rs 160.90(selling).

The buying and selling rates of one tola of gold was Rs. 112,800(selling) and Rs112,600(buying) at the local Sarafa (gold) markets of twin cities of Islamabad and Rawalpindi.
