ISLAMABAD: Haleem Adil Sheikh, a senior leader of the ruling Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) on Tuesday accused Sindh Chief Minister Murad Ali Shah of doing corruption on the instruction of party co-chairman Asif Ali Zardari, since he was provincial finance minister in the PPP-led Sindh government.

Speaking at a presser along with PTI Larkana president Saifullah Abro and senior vice president PTI Karachi Hunaid Lakhani, he alleged that the province saw new level of corruption after Shah became the chief minister.

He said that when the incumbent Sindh chief minister was provincial finance minister, anti-graft bodies were investigating corruption cases worth Rs 3 trillion.

As finance minister Sindh, Murad Ali Shah was directly involved in the corruption, as he was doing all this corruption directly on the orders of Asif Ali Zardari.

Sheikh said that 450 government employees were arrested in corruption and later released after plea bargain and reinstated on same positions, and given promotions.

About poor health facilities in Sindh, he said that there was no ambulance service for poor despite the tall claims of the provincial government of ensuring health facilities to the masses.

He said that the Sindh Health minister is the sister of Zardari and there are reports of drug theft from public sector pharmacies but no one can raise voice due to an influential minister of the government.

Sheikh further said that stray dogs bite 187,000 people so far but there was no vaccine for the people.

He said that 55,000 children were out of schools in the province, while 50 percent people are under poverty level.

The PTI leader further said that 60 percent people were also using contaminated water in the province.

He said that 18th amendment was a good step but the share Sindh gets was being embezzled.

Sheikh said that all sugar mills and cement factories were destroyed by the provincial government as people in the government had vested interest, and they were busy in promoting personal businesses.

The Sindh government was denied to give 20 percent premium for initiating health card in the province, he said, adding that the federal government was willing to start health initiative in the province.
