KARACHI: After market close on start of the week, Pakistan Rupee fell against US Dollar in both inter-bank and open markets crossing 160 in open market for both buying and selling. It also lost value against Euro, AED and SR in open market.

INTER-BANK MARKET RATES: In the interbank market, Pakistan Rupee lost 10 paisas for both buying and selling against USD over last week’s rate closing at 160.75 and 160.85 respectively.

OPEN MARKET RATES: In the open market, PKR lost 45 paisas for buying and 50 paisas for selling against USD over last week’s rate closing at 161 and 161.25 respectively.

Against Euro, PKR lost 50 paisas for both buying and selling closing at 194.50 and 196 respectively. Against UAE Dirham, PKR lost 15 paisas for both buying and selling closing at 43.80 and 44 respectively.

Against Saudi Riyal, PKR lost 10 paisas for buying and 5 paisas for selling closing at 42.65 and 42.80 respectively.

RUPEE IN LAHORE: The Pak rupee depreciated its worth versus major currencies including the greenback and the British pound in the open currency market on Monday.

The short supply phenomenon of the dollar prevailed throughout the trading session which helped its appreciation for buying and selling at Rs 160.70 and Rs 161.70 against the previous closing trend of Rs 160.50 and Rs 161.50 respectively, local currency dealers said.

Likewise, the local currency also followed suit in relation to the pound sterling that was bought and sold at Rs 218.50 and Rs 220.50 against Friday’s closing rate of Rs 218.20 and Rs 220.20 respectively, they added.

RUPEE IN ISLAMABAD AND RAWALPINDI: The dollar remained firm against the rupee at the open currency markets of Islamabad and Rawalpindi here on Monday.

The dollar opened at Rs161.30 (buying) and Rs 161.40(selling) against same last week's rate.

It closed at Rs161.30 (buying) and Rs 161.40(selling).

The buying and selling rates of one tola of gold was Rs. 110,800 (selling) and Rs110,600(buying) at the local Sarafa (gold) markets of twin cities of Islamabad and Rawalpindi.
