As many as 36 shopkeepers were fined for total amount of Rs 23700 by Revenue officers of Hyderabad on account of charging high prices other than fixed by the government from the consumers.
According to details, available to this office, the Deputy Commissioner Hyderabad Agha Shahnawaz Babar, Additional Deputy Commissioner-I, Aijazul Hassan, Additional Deputy Commissioner-II, Abid Saleem, Assistant Commissioners Taluka Hyderabad City, Latifabad, Qasimabad and Hyderabad Rural paid surprise visits at different markets in their areas and found many shopkeepers either charging high prices or not displaying rate list in front of their shops and took action against them.
The report further revealed that the fine of Rs 10700 was recovered from 06 shopkeepers in Taluka Hyderabad City, Rs 2000 from 08 shopkeepers of Latifabad, Rs 10500 from 06 shopkeepers of Qasimabad and Rs 500 from 02 shopkeepers of Hyderabad Rural on account of charging high prices and not placing rate list on their shops.
