KARACHI: After market close on Monday, Pakistan Rupee continued upwards against USD in both interbank and open markets. It also gained value against Euro in open market.

INTER-BANK MARKET RATES: In the interbank market, Pakistan Rupee gained 10 paisas for both buying and selling against USD over last week’s rates closing at 157.90 and 158 respectively.

OPEN MARKET RATES: In the open market, PKR gained 5 paisas for buying and 10 paisas for selling against USD over last week’s rates closing at 158.10 and 158.30 respectively.

Against Euro, PKR gained one rupee for both buying and selling closing at 190 and 191.50 respectively.

Against UAE Dirham, PKR remained unchanged for both buying and selling closing at 43.05 and 43.20 respectively.

Against Saudi Riyal, PKR lost 10 paisas for both buying and selling closing at 42 and 42.20 respectively.

RUPEE IN LAHORE: The Pak rupee appreciated its worth in the process of trading against the American dollar in the local currency market on Monday.

Amid lack of the buying spree in the market, the dollar lost 20 paisas and closed lower for buying and selling at Rs 158.00 and Rs 159.50 against the previous closing rate of Rs 158.20 and Rs 159.70 respectively, local currency dealers said.

On the other hand, the rupee failed to sustain as it depreciated its worth against the pound sterling. As a result, the pound’s buying and selling rates improved from Friday’s closing of Rs 219.40 and Rs 221.00 to Rs 219.50 and Rs 221.50 respectively, they added.

RUPEE IN ISLAMABAD AND RAWALPINDI: The rupee recovered 10 paisas against the dollar at the open currency markets of Islamabad and Rawalpindi here on Monday.

The dollar opened at Rs158.60(buying) and Rs 158.70(selling) against last rate of Rs158.70(buying) and Rs 158.80(selling).

It closed at Rs158.60(buying) and Rs 158.70(selling).

The buying and selling rates of one tola of gold was Rs. 108,600 (selling) and Rs108,400(buying) at the local Sarafa (gold) markets of twin cities of Islamabad and Rawalpindi.
