Weak and inept district leadership is playing havoc with ruling PPP in district Chitral as Pakistan Tehrik-e-Insaf (PTI) and Awami National Party (ANP) are making in roads to PPP stronghold. The deterioration was started with the dissolution of party organisations in Malakand Division to pave way for new organisational set us.
The senior leadership of the party in district Chitral has expressed their severe reservations on the sudden dissolution of Party organisations in the region. The Party workers are demanding intervention on behalf of Party Co-chairman and President of Pakistan Asif Ali Zardari, Prime Minister Raja Pervez Ashraf and provincial president, Senator Sardar Ali Khan to protect the party from further damages.
The Party has been divided into different groups, but the local office bearers are hiding it from central leadership and keeping it upto themselves, which is inflicting irreparable loss to the popularity of the party. The heavy use of the resources of the provincial government by ANP in the local politics is disgruntling PPP workers and its local leadership could not compete it due to its own in-competency.
Beside, coalition partner ANP, PTI is also affecting the popularity of PPP in Chitral while the PML-Q's MNA Shehzada Mohiyuddin is also secretly in glove with former military dictator General Pervez Musharraf (Retd). The MNA, who had appointed his son as president All Pakistan Muslim League (APML), making conspiracy against PPP.
In such a situation, they are looking towards the top leadership of the party for overcoming these problems and to remove hurdles in popularity of the party in the district. The failure in taking timely measures could inflict heavy loss on the party. According to inside sources, majority of PPP workers do not like the sitting district president, Provincial Minister for Population Minister Saleem Khan. Hatred against him is growing and the workers even do not like to see his face.
