LAHORE: As the Punjab government re-enforced restrictions due to surge in confirmed Covid-19 cases, the Lahore police said it will ensure implementation of the health guidelines (SOPs) to save the public from the deadly virus.
Presiding over a high-level meeting on how to contain the virus and save lives of the people at his office on Sunday, Capital City Police Officer (CCPO) Ghulam Mahmood Dogar said that amid the fears of the third wave of Covid-19, the city police with the assistance of the health department and the district government would ensure that people in public are wearing face masks.
The CCPO also reviewed overall situation of the law and order in the city and preventive measures taken by different units of the Lahore police.
The meeting also reviewed the development in crackdown against land grabbers, goons, drug peddlers and gamblers. He directed the investigation officers to complete the cases of cheques’ dishonor and frauds on priority basis along with other heinous crimes.
Prominent among the participants of the meeting were DIG Investigation Shariq Jamal, DIG Operations Sajid Kiani and SSP Investigation Abdul Ghaffar Qaisarani.
