Mutahida Shehri Mahaz staged a demonstration at Chowk Nawan Shehr against the price hike of Petroleum Products, CNG and LPG describing it unjust and unfair. The demo was led by Tariq Naeem-ullah Khan. Paricipants burnt tyres to express anger. Speakers said that oil prices are falling in the international market but present government is descended on looting the consumers in oil sector. They said that there is no justification for increasing the POL products upto Rs 7.73 per litre.
They further said that PPP-led Federal government has dropped a fuel bomb on the masses while jacking up the prices of Petroleum Oil and Lubricant (POL) products upto Rs 7.67 per liter and price of Compressed Natural Gas (CNG) also pumped up by Rs 7.02 per kg in first half of August.
Much to the dismay of hard pressed masses that are already bearing the brunt of sky high prices of POL products and gas coupled with unscheduled long hours of power load shedding in the country will now find a tsunami of inflation in the market during the holy month of Ramazan.
