Prime Minister Raja Pervez Ashraf on Wednesday said the government's top priority was to resolve the problems of people of Balochistan and ensure security of their lives and property. Talking to Minister for Defence, Syed Naveed Qamar at the PM House here, the prime minister reiterated the government's call to Baloch leaders to come forward and discuss ways and means to resolve the issue confronting the people of Balochistan.
The Defence Minister apprised the Prime Minister about the proceedings of the Cabinet Committee on Balochistan. He informed the Prime Minister that the Committee in its third meeting recorded views and heard briefings from various stakeholders. He said the Committee had decided to visit Balochistan in the near future to ascertain the views of local leadership. Syed Naveed Qamar also apprised the Prime Minister that all members of the Committee are taking keen interest in the deliberations. He said a comprehensive report on Balochistan would be submitted to the Cabinet covering all aspects of the issue within the stipulated time.
