ISLAMABAD: Sindh government spokesperson Murtaza Wahab has claimed that the populations of Sindh and Balochistan are shown less in the Census 2017. “The biggest issue at this time is the Census 2017. All political parties had agreed to get third-party audit of the census but the federal government did not do anything on the issue. No one has accepted the results of the census 2017. There could be no proper planning without a correct census,” he expressed these views on Wednesday at a news conference.

He said: “Sindh Chief Minister Syed Murad Ali Shah has come to Islamabad to fight the case of Sindh in the meeting of the Council of Common Interest (CCI).”

He said the meeting of the CCI should be held after every 90 days, adding that “the federation did not pay Rs75 billion to the Sindh government under the NFC award.”

Wahab said the Sindh chief minister will raise the question of three hospitals in Sindh, in the meeting of the CCI.

He said since 2012 these hospitals have treated over 8.3 million patients, including over 0.3 million patients from other provinces.

He said these hospitals serve patients from all over Pakistan free of cost.

Since 2012, a total of 13,075 patients were treated by Cyberknife system and 48 percent of them were not from Sindh, he said.

Wahab said the Supreme Court had said in its decision that the federal government would have to return the money to the Sindh government which it had spent on these hospitals “but not a single penny has been paid to the Sindh government.”

The Sindh government has filed a review petition in the Supreme Court and the federal government should wait for its decision, he added.

He said the Sindh government has ordered the procurement of 10 million vaccines which would be given to people free of cost. According to him, jail inmates have also started getting vaccinated.

The federal government has not imported a single vaccine.

He said that China is giving vaccine because of its friendship with Pakistan.

He said that the dog bite vaccine is available in Sindh, while the Sindh government has paid the federal government for the dog bite vaccine, but no vaccine has been provided.
