The Karachi Port handled 164,534 tonnes of cargo comprising 124,362 tonnes of import cargo and 40,172 tonnes of export cargo including 6,712 loaded & empty containers during last 24 hours ended at 0700 hours on Friday. The total import cargo of 124,362 tonnes comprised of 60,085 tonnes of containerised cargo; 17,001 tonnes of bulk cargo: 3,837 tonnes of DAP; 13,164 tonnes of coal and 47,276 tonnes of oil/liquid cargo.
The total export cargo of 40,172 tonnes comprised of 33,195 tonnes of containerised cargo; 150 tonnes of general cargo; 6,706 tonnes of bulk cargo: 1,058 tonnes of cement; 5,648 tonnes of loose bulk cement and 121 tonnes of oil/liquid cargo. A total number of 6,712 containers comprising 3,754 containers import and 2,958 containers export were handled during the last 24 hours on Friday. The brake up of imported containers shows 1,200 of 20's and 1,224 of 40's of loaded while 84 of 20's and 11 of 40's empty containers, whereas that of exported containers shows 918 of 20's and 542 of 40's loaded containers while and 238 of 20's 359 40's empty containers were handled during the business hours.
Five ships namely Diyyiah-1, Clayton-II, Two Million Ways, APL Brisbane and FT Victory with three oil tankers, one container ship and one F/TRL respectively sailed out to sea during the reported period. Seven vessels viz UASC Shuwaikh, Tabea, Lindavia, MT Lahore, Montenery, Vishva Bandhan and UBC Cyprus carrying three container ships, two oil tankers and two bulk cargo ships respectively are currently at the berths.
Six ships namely UASC Shuwaikh, Hyundai Freedom, Naxihe, Tabea, MT Lahore and Jia Tai carrying four container ships, one oil tanker and one DAP carrier respectively sailed out to sea on Friday. Two vessels viz APL Seattle and OOCL Dalian carrying two container ship respectively due to arrive on Friday, while eight vessels viz Cosco Tianjin, Jolly, Lantau Arrow, Courier, GT Star, Oriental Ruby, Keitum and Admiral Coral carrying four container ships, one ethanol carrier, one naphtha carrier, one project cargo ship and one general cargo ship respectively are due to arrive on Saturday.

PORT QASIM
A cargo volume of 44,001 tonnes comprising 24,387 tonnes of import cargo and 19,614 tonnes of export cargo inclusive 1,473 loaded & empty containers (TEUs) was handled at Port Qasim during last 24 hours on Friday.
The total import cargo of 24,387 tonnes includes 5,382 tonnes of edible oil; 480 tonnes of project cargo; 2,103 tonnes of canola seeds and 16,422 tonnes of containerised cargo. The total export cargo of 19,614 tonnes includes 5,103 tonnes of cement and 14,511 tonnes of containerised cargo.
Three ships namely CV Mare Atlanticum, MV Conti Sphir and MT Malibu with containers, canola seeds and edible oil respectively sail out to sea on Friday morning, while three more ships namely CV MSC Lana, CV Belgica and CV MSC Jade carrying containers are expected to sail on the same day afternoon. A total number of nine vessels viz CV MSC Lana, CV Belgica, CV MSC Jade, CV Mare Atlanticum, MV Fisher-D, MV BBC Arizona, MV Hawk, MV Conti Sphir and MT Malibu are currently occupying berths to load/offload containers, cement, project cargo, canola seeds and edible oil respectively during last 24 hours.
As many as four ships namely UASC Shuwaikh, Anoushka, Gas Husky and Stolt Zulu with containers, cement, LPG and chemicals respectively are currently at the outer anchorage of Port Qasim. A total number of three vessels viz CV UASC Shuwaikh, MT Gas Husky and MV Stolt Zulu carrying containers, LPG and chemicals respectively are expected to take berths at Qasim International Containers Terminal, Gas Terminal and Engro Vopak Terminal respectively on Friday.
