Sprite Cricket Next (SCN) 2012, the one of its kind sporting event to foster the talent of Pakistani youth, continues to play its ever important role in promoting talented street cricketers. The battle for supremacy between 'Josh' and 'Hosh' rages on as the most 'Josheela' bowler in cricketing history, the 'Rawalpindi Express' Shoaib Akhtar, faces off the most 'Hoshyaar' wicketkeepers of all time, Moin Khan. As part of the on-ground activity, Sprite recently organised trials for the youth at Liberty Market in Lahore.
Being the coach of the 'Josh' Squad, the world's fastest bowler, Shoaib Akhtar himself participated in the trials. He easily mingled with the crowd and coached players on how to further improve their bowling. He also scouted players for SCN who will proceed to the next phase of the activity and will get a chance to be a part of Shoaib's 'Josh' Squad.
While talking to the media at the event, Shoaib said, "Sprite as a brand realises the importance of street cricket and has always promoted the sport at its grass root level. Sprite Cricket Next has provided a platform to street cricketers through which they can showcase their talent.
Through SCN I will personally conduct trials of these young players and will train the best bowlers scouted amongst them. I am really impressed with the enthusiasm that these players have shown and I want to thank SCN for providing me the opportunity to meet these passionate cricketers. I request street cricketers to continue participating in SCN with the same passion and fervour. Who knows the next Shoaib Akhtar from Pakistan could be you." Sprite will continue to conduct such trials across Pakistan and Shoaib Akhtar will personally scout talent for them.-PR
