Former champion Pakistan warmed-up for its Saturdays' ICC U19 Cricket World Cup 2012 opener against Afghanistan with a comfortable eight wickets victory over Papua New Guinea (PNG) in its last practice match in South Brisbane on Wednesday. Opener Sami Aslam stroked a fine century and Inam-ul-Haq returned unbeaten on 38 as Pakistan achieved an easy 195-run target with eight wickets and just over 17 overs to spare, according to information received from International Cricket Council (ICC).
Sami clubbed 22 fours and three sixes in a 99-ball 132 while Inams 64-ball knock included four boundaries. The two batsmen added 146 runs for the second wicket after captain Babar Azam had returned to the pavilion after scoring 10. Earlier, Usman Qadir returned figures of three for 32 runs as PNG was restricted to 196 for six after being put into bat. Opener Lega Siaka with 46 was the top scorer while Nigel Boge (41 not out) and Dogodo Bau (37 not out) put on 91 runs for the unfinished seventh wicket in 15 overs.
