KARACHI: The Karachi Port Trust handled 192,531 tonnes of cargo comprising 114,089 tonnes of import cargo and 78,442 tonnes of export cargo during last 24 hours ending on Tuesday.
The total import cargo of 114,089 comprised of 57,321 tonnes of Containerized Cargo, 736 tonnes of Bulk Cargo, 6,641 tonnes of DAP, 2,457 tonnes of Sugar, 9,888 tonnes of Wheat and 37,046 T tonnes of Oil/Liquid Cargo.
The total export cargo of 78,442 tonnes comprised of 53,948 tonnes of containerized cargo, 12,100 tonnes of Clinkers, 8,544 tonnes of Cement, 3,850 tonnes of Oil and Liquid Cargo.
Nearly, 9867 containers comprising of 4693 containers import and 5174 containers export were handled during the last 24 hours on Tuesday.
The break-up of imported containers shows 805 of 20’s and 1851 of 40’s loaded while 76 of 20’s and 55 of 40’s empty containers, whereas that of exported containers shows 1192 of 20’s and 945 of 40’s loaded containers while 110 of 20’s and 991 of 40’s empty containers were handled during the business hours.
About 07 ships namely, Korea Chemi, Shiling, OOCL Genoa, Kota Naked, Daeho Sunstar, Parnassos and Willowy have berth at Karachi Port on the same day.
Approximately, 07 ships namely, Furness St Kilda, Singapore Bridge, OOCL Guangzhou, Mol Generosity, Ningbo Express, MT Shalamar and Sti Prestige have sailed out from Karachi Port on 28-09-2021.
Some 09 cargos namely Saehan Wallaby, Bernadette, Independent Spirit Ym Excellence, Cape Fortius, Hyundai Colombo, Jal Laxmi, Annita and Global Efforts were expected to arrive on the same day.
PORT QASIM
Berth occupancy remained on high side at the Port where a total of 15 ships were occupied at PQA berths during the last 24 hours, out of them, four ships, MSC Qingdao, SG Pegasus, Malanje and Nord Neptune left the port on Tuesday morning, while four more ships, MSC Samu, Seago Istanbul, Spring Snow and Leo Ocean are expected to sail in the afternoon .
A cargo volume of 198,041 tonnes, comprising 172,272 tonnes imports cargo and 25,769 tonnes export cargo, including containerized cargo carried in 4,070 Containers (2,900 TEUs Imports and 1,170 TEUs export), was handled at the port during last 24 hours . Five ships, Maersk Pittsburgh, Safmarine Nyassa, Meteor, Tiger Glory and Al-Soor-II carrying Containers, Canola, Palm oil and Gas oil are expected to take berths at Container Terminal, Grain Terminal, Liquid Terminal and Oil Terminal respectively on Tuesday, 28th September -2021.
