The Human Rights Commission of Pakistan (HRCP) has strongly condemned the killing of 25 Shia Muslims on their way to Gilgit-Balitistan which were killed after pulling out from buses. HRCP also condemned the killing of three Shias in Quetta and demanded that the authorities should explain the steps government will take to ensure the security of the citizens which were targeted because of their religious belief.
The Commission said in a statement "HRCP is appalled that terrorists have once again succeeded in targeting Shia Muslims on their way to Gilgit-Baltistan. Thursdays attack was similar to the one carried out in Kohistan in February. Again buses are stopped on the main road by men in military uniform and Shia passengers are separated from the rest and are executed. Many transporters had started using the Mansehra-Naran-Jalkhad route instead of Karakoram Highway after the February killings. Unfortunately, Thursday's attack was occurred on this changed route." The killings are doubtless is the work of those who want to destroy Pakistan. The attack on Kamra base on the same day made it clear that Taliban's are no bodies' friends and those who created these monsters wants to put Pakistan on the path of annihilation.
HRCP demanded that government should immediately arrest those who were involved in sectarian killings. HRCP also like to know what words of solace and reassurance government offered to the families of the victims and members of the community. The government must tell the people what steps government has taken to end impunity for the killers and ensure security for Shia Muslims, including those in Quetta and the citizens travelling to and from Gilgit Baltistan.
