Futures spreads down 252bps

The futures spreads significantly declined by 252bps during the week ended August 16, 2012 to 7.69 percent as compared to 10.21 percent a week earlier. The market witnessed healthy trading activity at the futures counter as the average daily volumes increased by 99.9 percent on week-on-week basis to 10 million shares against previous week''s average of 5 million shares.
The average daily trading value also increased by 91.9 percent to Rs 767.10 million against previous week''s Rs 399.71 million.
