A cargo volume of 45,090 tonnes comprising 37,614 tonnes of import cargo and 7,476 tonnes of export cargo inclusive 666 loaded & empty containers (TEUs) was handled at Port Qasim during last 24 hours on Saturday. The total import cargo of 37,614 tonnes includes 32,117 tonnes of furnace oil; 2,258 tonnes of palm oil and 3,239 tonnes of containerised cargo.
The total export cargo of 7,476 tonnes includes 4,875 tonnes of cement; 1,290 tonnes of wheat; 731 tonnes of rice and 580 tonnes of containerised cargo. Two ships namely CV Asian Trader and MV Oceanic Coral sailed out to sea on Saturday morning. A total number of six vessels viz CV Asian Trader, MV Heckor, MV Oceanic Coral, MV Olympic Spirit, Out Rivaling-2 and Genius Mariner are currently occupying berths to load/offload containers, cement, furnace oil, palm oil, wheat and rice respectively during last 24 hours.
As many as six ships namely Baltic, MT Karachi, Fuji Galaxy, Unicorn Emerald, AMS Pegasus and SFL Kent with furnace oil, palm oil, wheat, cement and corn respectively are currently at the outer anchorage of Port Qasim. A total number of two vessels viz AMS Pegasus and SFL Kent with cement and corn respectively are expected to take berths at Multi Purpose Terminal (MW-3) and Grains & Fertiliser (FAP) respectively on Saturday.
