KARACHI: President of Korangi Association of Trade and Industry (KATI), Salman Aslam said the business community is hopeful that the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) meeting will lead to better decisions in favour of the Muslim Ummah which will restore the identity of Muslims.
Welcoming the convening of 48th meeting of the OIC representing Muslim countries in Islamabad, he said it was commendable and honourable for Pakistan to host the OIC Foreign Ministers’ Meeting.
He hoped that the leaders attending the meeting would make lasting decisions and work out a plan of action on the Inter-Muslim Alliance to reduce the hatred against Muslims in the world. Establish an atmosphere of friendship, brotherhood, and peace which is essential for economic stability at the international level.
Positive suggestions should also be made to encourage research and cooperation among member countries in these areas, including the promotion and development of science and technology in Muslim countries, so that all member countries, including Pakistan, can benefit from it. Expressing good wishes, Salman Aslam said that we hope that the meeting of OIC Foreign Ministers in Islamabad will be a blessing for the Muslim Ummah.
Salman said taking advantage of this opportunity, trade and diplomatic relations with Muslim countries should be strengthened. He said the OIC is the second-largest intergovernmental organization in the world after the United Nations, comprising 57 countries with a combined population of about two billion.
Salman Aslam said the enemies are busy creating propaganda against Pakistan hosting the OIC Conference. However, before the meeting, there were fears that the meeting might be postponed due to disputes between the political parties, but the political leaders have shown patriotism, did not interrupt it, which is commendable.
KATI president congratulated Prime Minister Imran Khan on the successful convention of the OIC Summit. He said that the Prime Minister had succeeded in persuading Islamophobia in the world and now he hoped that he would play a vital role in further strengthening trade relations with Muslim countries and removing trade barriers.
