The European Commission on Monday cleared the take-over by British engineering group GKN of Volvo's aero engine division in a deal worth £633 million (790 million euros). The Commission said an investigation showed that the acquisition of Volvo Aero, part of Sweden's Volvo Group, "would not significantly reduce the supply options available to customers" in the aero engine component market.
GKN announced the deal in July.
