Model Customs Collectorate (MCC exports), Karachi, has launched automated system 'WeBOC' for processing exports operations at East and West wharves on Wednesday.
According to official statement issued here, in the first phase, all exporters and their clearing agents are going to file Goods Declarations pertaining to FCL cargo of MCC (exports) exported through PICT and KICT in WeBOC system from September, 5 2012 as the exports will be blocked in One-Customs system after the aforesaid cut-off date and no 'FCL export cargo' pertaining to PICT and KICT shall be allowed Gate-in at One-Customs system after September, 4.
The exporters are further advised to ensure that the current entire shipment covered in their export G.D. filed in One-Customs system reaches the Export Gate of the terminals well before the time mentioned above to avoid delays. The GDs of FCL and LCL export cargo pertaining to MCC (exports) currently handled at the yards and off dock terminals located in the jurisdiction of East and West Wharves shall continue to be filed in One-Customs system for the time being. While filing export GDs, the exporters and clearing agents are required to maintain and observe the current jurisdiction and division of work between MCC (PaCCS) and MCC (exports) as envisaged under SRO 967(I)/2007 dated 20-09-2007 and various Public Notices and orders issued in this regard by the Board/Chief Collector office/MCCs.
The Terminal Operators are directed not to entertain any shipment of FCL cargo in One-Customs system after the cut-off date and time. All FCL export cargo, therefore, shall be handled by the MCC (exports) at PICT and KICT after the above said date & time in terms of relevant Rules given in Chapter XXI of Customs Rules notified by the Board vide SRO 450 (I)/2001 Dated 18.6.2001 which apply to the clearance of export cargo through WeBOC system.-PR
