A US Airways jetliner was forced to return to Philadelphia airport shortly after takeoff Thursday because of what turned out to be a false report of explosives aboard, officials said. "A US Airways flight was returned to Philadelphia Airport after information of explosives on board," an FBI spokesman said. After landing, the 69 passengers on board US Airways flight 1267 to Dallas, Texas were taken off the plane while authorities searched it and their luggage.
"The flight was cleared. Nothing was found. All the passengers are cleared to continue the flight" A US Airways spokesman said the flight would resume as soon as possible.
