PBC holds workshop on ‘best practices in sustainability reporting’
KARACHI: Pakistan Business Council (PBC)’s Centre of Excellence in Responsible Business (CERB) – a multi-sector coalition promoting sustainable business across Pakistan – recently hosted a workshop on the “Best Practices in Sustainability Reporting” as part of its ongoing SDG Leadership Programme. The event was sponsored by ICI Pakistan Limited.
With representatives from key business players across Pakistan, the workshop entailed discussions on important aspects of sustainability reporting such as materiality, stakeholder engagement and current global sustainability standards.
Events such as these can enable Pakistan to meet target 12.6, which focuses on the number of organisations that publish a sustainability report. ICI Pakistan Limited is one such organization and has won the ICAP / ICMAP Best Sustainability Report Award in 2021.
On the occasion, Eqan Ali Khan – General Manager, Strategy, Business Development & Innovation at ICI Pakistan Limited – said, “Sustainability reporting is a vital aspect of consolidating our corporate social responsibility.
In line with our value of Integrity and Responsibility, our thorough reporting standards ensure transparency and highlight how ICI Pakistan Limited measures and manages its short and long-term goals to improve the lives of the stakeholders and communities it serves.”
PBC is the only major business body with full time resources dedicated to promotion of sustainable practices amongst businesses.
