ISLAMABAD: Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Chairman Imran Khan on Tuesday called upon the British authorities to play their due role in curbing the menace of money laundering and the transfer of wealth from poor to rich countries.
He stated this while talking to British High Commissioner to Pakistan Christian Turner who called on him at his Bani Gala residence. This was the first meeting of the British high commissioner with Imran Khan after his ouster as prime minister.
The matters of mutual interest and the bilateral relationship came under discussion during the meetings. Khan reiterated that the transfer of capital from poor to rich countries is a big issue and measures should be taken to stop it. He said that the transfer of wealth creates a global imbalance among nations, adding the practice also encourages people to migrate to the rich countries too.
