Interior Minister Rehman Malik has written a letter to Secretary General Interpol, Ronald K Noble to block US-made blasphemous film and other anti-Islamic materials on Internet across the world. Malik has written the letter on September 14 and requested Secretary General Interpol to take up the matter with major search engines to ensure blocking of all such websites which were displaying the controversial film and all anti-Islamic material on the Internet as it is highly detrimental against the war on terror.
In his letter to Interpol, Rehman Malik urged the body to make it mandatory to block anti-Islamic material received on the internet. He also requested the Interpol to prepare a draft legislation to effectively counter such moves which badly disturb interfaith harmony and spread hatred in the world.
He also requested Ronald to place the draft before the coming General Assembly meeting of Interpol in Rome. The minister said he would suggest the issue in order to stop occurrences of such things in future as the negativity of blasphemous material could be harmful to anybody. He further said that the blasphemous film has sparked world-wide protests creating law and order situation in various countries.
