Dow University of Health Sciences is continuously trying to provide economical affordable and standardised health services for public especially it is providing free of cost service for the management of tuberculosis and complication of other chest diseases.
Dow University has recently established department of thoracic surgery to Ojha Institute of Chest Disease. In the connection an Intensive Care Unit of 6 beds with two Operation Theaters has been established to provide surgical treatment of tuberculosis to the poor, needy patients. A Ceremony was organised to inaugurate the Department of Thoracic Surgery and ICU today at Dow University TB Hospital. The ceremony was attended by Syed Hashim Raza Zaidi, Dr Ismat Ara, and Ms Kimani of APWA, Dr Solat Fatimi and Senior Faculty Members of the University.
Chief Guest Renowned and Senior Thoracic Surgeon, Professor Dr Iftekhar Rathore in his address appreciated the struggle of Dow University to establish the Thoracic Surgery Department at OCID to provide free-of-cost treatment to the TB sufferers. He offered to share his professional experiences for further improvement of the Surgical Unit. -PR
