A large number of youths took out a rally on motorcycles. All shopping centres, petrol pumps, CNG stations, hotels, restaurants, factories in Multan and other areas of Southern Punjab remained closed on Friday. Mobile service also remained suspended in the city. PCGA Chairman Amanullah Qureshi said, "we have shut our 1200 ginning factories to express our anger on the blasphemous movie. We demand that entire world should stand with us on this issue for the sanctity of all religions."
Secretary General of Multan Chamber Khurram Javed said that all factories, textile, spinning, weaving mills, packaging, flour mills etc have ceased functioning from midnight to join the protest, "Every one is ready to lay down his life for the sanctity and honour of Holy Prophet Muhammad (PBUH).
Local journalists staged a demo in front of Multan Press Club, while Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz staged a demo at MDA Chowk under the leadership of its District chief Bilal Butt. Participants shouted slogans against the US and Israel. Traders, industrialists, shopkeepers, manufacturers and citizens observed the Yaum-e-Ishq-e-Rasool (PBUH) against the sacrilegious and blasphemous film on Friday.
Chamber of Small traders Chairman Jafar Ali Shah, All Pakistan Markazi Anjuman Tajiran's Senior Vice President, Khawaja Suleman Siddiqui, Arif Fasihullah President of Anjuman Tajiran, President of Medicine market Muhammad Akhtar Butt, Qaumi Tajir Ittehad Punjab President Tariq Mehmood Malik stated, "we have closed our entire business as complete shutter down was observed on Friday in southern Punjab to express our sentiments against the blasphemous film. Jamaat-ud-Dawa and other religious parties also took out rallies.
