KARACHI: The Karachi Port Trust handled 152,025 tonnes of cargo comprising 83,792 tonnes of import cargo and 68,233 tonnes of export cargo during last 24 hours ending at 0700 Hours.
The total import cargo of 83,792 comprised of 27,703 tonnes of Containerized Cargo, 10,168 T tonnes of Bulk Cargo, 6,151 tonnes of Canola, 1,923 tonnes of Chickpeas, 1,513 tonnes of Lentils, 4,572 tonnes of Wheat & 31,762 tonnes of Oil & Liquid Cargo.
The total export cargo of 68,233 tonnes comprised of 30,637 tonnes of containerized Cargo, 222 tonnes of Bulk Cargo, 32,774 Tons of Clinkers & 4,600 tonnes of Oil & Liquid Cargo.
Nearly, 5608 containers comprising of 2012 containers import and 3596 containers export were handled on Tuesday.
The break-up of imported containers shows 277 of 20’s and 858 of 40’s loaded while 01 of 20’s and 09 of 40’s empty containers, whereas that of exported containers shows 431 of 20’s and 853 of 40’s loaded containers while 205 of 20’s and 627 of 40’s empty containers were handled during the business hours.
More or less, 06 ships namely Cma Cgm Titus, Grace, Seaspan Osaka, He Sheng Nan Fang, Nasco Gem and Orchid Americas have berthed at Karachi Port.
Around, 07 ships namely Northern Guard, Olympia, SG Pegasus, Tss Shams, Cypress, Cma Cgm Titus and Osaka have sailed at Karachi Port.
PORT QASIM
A total of 07 ships were engaged at PQA berths during the last 24 hours, out of them 02 ships, MSC Ines and Golden Violet left the Port on Tuesday morning while 03 more ships, Vitus Bering, Yihai and Global Falcon are expected to sail on today in the afternoon.
A Cargo volume of 74,965tonnes, comprising 53,051 tonnes imports cargo and 21,914 tonnes export cargo, including containerized cargo carried in 1,187` Containers (32 TEUs Imports and 1,155 TEUs export) was handled at the port during last 24 hours.
There are 07 ships at Outer Anchorage of Port Qasim, out of them, 04 ships, Fairchem Sword, Hafnia Shanghai, Milaha Ras Laffan and Star Jeannette & another ship ‘MSC Lisbon’ carrying Palm oil, Mogas, LNG, Canola Seed and Containers are expected to take berths at LCT, FOTCO, PGPCL, FAP and QICT on Tuesday, 14th February- 2023.
