Commissioner Lahore Division Jawad Rafique Malik has said that the administration would not sit back as long as the dengue continues to multiply during the current season and vowed to continue the anti-dengue campaign. He expressed these views while visiting a number of city schools in connection with the inspection of anti-dengue measures here on Tuesday.
Chief Entomologist Dr Waseem Akram, Dr Sajjad Dara, Wing Commander Saeed Riaz (Retd), Administrator Gulberg Town Amina Munir, TMO Gulberg Town Faisal Shahzad, Administrator Data Gunj Bakhsh Town, TMO Data Gunj Bakhsh Town, officers of health, education, Rescue 1122 and other departments were also present on the occasion.
The commissioner expressed satisfaction over the fact that the number of dengue haemorrhage fever patients by the grace of Almighty Allah could not rise at a disturbance level in the metropolis. He visited high schools after reviewing the anti-dengue arrangements in the private schools. He along with Chief Entomologist Dr Waseem Akram exchanged the views with the high school students regarding the anti-dengue information. Moreover, the Commissioner expressed his satisfaction over the anti-dengue awareness of the public school and said private schools needed more attention in this regard.
He directed the TMO Gulberg Town and officers of health and education departments to take more anti-dengue measures for improving the anti-dengue awareness among the students of private schools and signature of their parents on the anti-dengue Performa be also acquired. Later on, while talking to media the Commissioner said school children were the focus of the inspection that was why they had been given importance.
