The Federation of All Pakistan Universities Academic Staff Association (FAPUASA) Khyber Pakhtunkhwa chapter announced to launch a protest drive against the administration of public sector universities for not ensuring to extend 20 percent increase in the salaries of universities employees.
The universities' Class-III and Class-IV associations were also endorsed the decision and vowed to participate in the province-wide protest demonstrations on October 02, and urged the authorities concerned to met their genuine demand by releasing their already increased salaries.
A meeting of FAPUASA Khyber Pakhtunkhwa chapter held here in chair of its provincial president Professor Dr Humayun Khan at PUTA Hall In the meeting Peshawar University Teachers' Association (PUTA) president Jamil Ahmad, general secretary Fazal Nasir, Islamia College Charted University Teachers' Association President Faisal Shahzad, Engineering University Teachers' Association President Professor Javid Iqbal and General Secretary Professor Asmatullah and representatives of the other public sector universities participated in the meeting.
In a resolution they also strongly condemned the failure to release the 20 percent increased salaries to the university employees. The Federation also termed all the concerned vice chancellors of the public sector universities responsible for the delay in release of the federal government announced 20 percent increased salaries to employees of all the public sector universities. In the meeting they decided to observe complete strike against the concerned vice chancellors on October 02. They asked the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa government to realise the miseries of the teaching community and play its due role to save the precious time of the students.
