The Election Commission of Pakistan has announced holding by-elections on November 17 on eight seats left vacant by the legislators declared ineligible by the Supreme Court in the dual nationality case. According to ECP candidates could file nomination papers on October 8 and 9 while by-elections would be held on November 17 after the reviewing of these papers and the issuance of final list.
The constituencies where by-elections would be held include 3 constituencies of National Assembly: NA 107 Gujarat, NA 245 Karachi and NA 162 Sahiwal. Constituencies of Punjab Assembly where by-elections would be held are PP 26 Jhelum, PP 92 Gujranwala, PP 122 Sialkot and PP 44 Sialkot.
By-elections would also be held for Sindh Assembly constituency PS 21 Naushero Feroze. According to a press release, the nomination papers can be filed on 8th and 9th of next month while scrutiny will take place on 10th and 11th. Last date for withdrawal of candidature would be 19th while revised list of candidates would be published on 20th of next month.
