Following the funeral prayers of father and two sons, who were gunned down in Pan Mandi area on Tuesday, tension prevailed in Numaish and its other neighbourhoods on Wednesday.
According to details, although heavy contingent of law enforcers were deployed to avert any untoward incident during funeral prayers of a Shia man and his two sons, who were shot dead at Pan Mandi area on late Tuesday, miscreants took to streets and resorted to heavy aerial firing and suspended all commercial and social activities for hours at Numaish and other neighbourhoods.
The funeral prayers of Muhammad Raza, 60, his sons Kamil Raza, and Abbas Raza were offered at Numaish Imam Bargah where mourners staged protest demonstration against the said incident. They held the rival party responsible for the said killings and demanded the authorities to take stern measures against the killers. Later, they were laid to rest at Wadi-e-Hussain graveyard. The victims, who used to run traditional spice shop at Jodia Bazar, were targeted when they were on the way to home from shop. Police suspected that the victims, who belonged to Shia community, might have been murdered over sectarian ground.
