ISLAMABAD: Jazz has retained its top spot as the fastest broadband provider in Pakistan, according to the Ookla Market Report for Q1 2023.

With an average download speed of 21.93 Mbps, Jazz outperformed even the fastest fixed broadband provider, Transworld, which reported a download speed of 16.23 Mbps.

Other mobile operators including Zong, Ufone and Telenor Pakistan reported download speeds of 13.92 Mpbs, 9.61 Mbps and 4.86 Mbps, respectively. The report also showed that Jazz had the highest consistency of 82 percent during the reporting period, significantly outscoring its competitors, Zong, Ufone, and Telenor Pakistan. Ookla is the global leader in network intelligence and connectivity insights.

According to Aamir Ibrahim, CEO of Jazz, “While we transformed from a telecom to a digital operator, provision of seamless connectivity remains at our core. We have invested US$1 billion during the last four years alone in network expansion and up-gradation taking the overall investment in Pakistan to US$10.4 billion since inception. We are committed to delivering the best possible experience to our customers.”

Recently Jazz also became the first mobile operator to introduce next-generation transport network solution on its network by successfully conducting pilot of Pakistan’s first 1.2Tbps (1200Gbps) increasing the optical fiber capacities by 50 percent from 800Gbps over a single wavelength. With over 15,000 operational cell sites this new technology is helping Jazz meet its customers’ growing needs of data services.
