ISLAMABAD: All Pakistan PSO, cartage North Zone, Sihala, on Monday, resumed the fuel supply in the twin cities of Islamabad and Rawalpindi after assurance from the local government and rural development to construct the road in three days.

The association had on Sunday announced the suspension of oil supply in the twin cities as the closure of Sihala Road posed significant challenges for the transportation of oil, leading to protest.

The association alleged that the fuel transporters had been forced to take this measure due to the lack of a viable route to ensure the safe and timely delivery of oil to the twin cities.

Lack of response from the authorities concerned, the oil tanker association hoped that their decision to suspend oil supply would serve as a wake-up call. They urged the relevant authorities to prioritise the construction and maintenance of the Sihala Road, enabling a reliable supply of oil.

The supply from the Sialkot Depot had been disrupted, impacting the regions of Gilgit-Baltistan and Azad Kashmir.

The oil tanker association had repeatedly appealed to the district administration to prioritise the construction of Sihala Road and emphasized the urgent need for a functional and well-maintained transportation route to alleviate the ongoing supply problems.

The poor state of the transportation route has further compounded the challenges faced by the association. The deteriorated condition of the road has made it increasingly difficult to ensure a smooth flow of oil supply to the affected regions.

The association is deeply concerned about the consequences of this situation and the potential impact it may have on the daily lives of the residents and businesses in these areas.
