Shahab Zuberi to head APNS Awards body

KARACHI: President Nazafreen Saigol Lakhani and Secretary General, Sarmad Ali of the All Pakistan Newspapers Society have nominated Shahab Zuberi to head the Awards Committee of the APNS as Chairman.

APNS Awards Committee included Shahab Zuberi, Daily Business Recorder, as Chairman, Adnan Faisal, Monthly Brands, as Vice Chairman, whereas the following are nominated as members: S M Munir Jilani, Daily Paigham, Khurram Hussain, Daily Dawn, Irfan Athar, Daily Tijarat, Mohsin Bilal, Daily Ausaf, Umer Mujib Shami, Daily Pakistan, Bilal Mahmood, Daily Nawa-i-Waqt, Mohsin Seyal, Daily Aftab, Uzma Zia Rizvi, Daily Jang and Faisal Zahid Malik, Daily Pakistan Observer.

APNS cuts a sorry figure due to their silence on Arshed Sharif, Imran Riaz Khan, the BOL executive and others who have disappeared or have been forced to leave the country. It is worth remembering the immortal words of the Pastor : First they came for xxxx....... and I stayed silent because I was not one of them. ( ..and it continues in this vein ). Eventually they came for me....but by then there was no one left to speak up for me ". Those who are fortunate enough to lead have a duty to their readers, viewers ..... failing in this duty is bad for all.
