ISLAMABAD: After the presentation of federal budget 2023-24, Federal Board of Revenue (FBR) Chairman Asim Ahmad has constituted two anomaly committees, ie, Anomaly Committee-Business and Anomaly Committee-Technical.
These committees will identify and remove the business and technical related anomalies identified in the Finance Bill 2023 and present recommendations to the FBR for removal of the same.
The Anomaly Committee-Business will be headed by Dr. Khurram Tariq President Faisalabad Chamber of Commerce & Industry while co-Chairpersons will be Surraiya Ahmed Butt, Member Customs Policy FBR and Mr. Afaque Ahmad Qureshi Member IR-Policy FBR.
Members of the Anomaly Committee-Business are Irfan Iqbal Sheikh, President, FPCCI; Kashif Anwar, President, LCCI; Muhammad Ishaq, President, Sarhad Chamber; Haji Abdullah Achakzai, President, Quetta Chamber; Ahsan Zafar Bakhtawari, President, Islamabad Chamber of Commerce; Zubair Tufail Ex President FPCCI; Muhammad Aurangzeb, Chairman Pakistan Business Council Karachi and Sohail Rahim Pasha, Chairman PTEA.
The Anomaly Committee-Technical will be chaired by Ashfaq Yousaf Tola, Chairman Reforms and Resource Mobilization Commission while Member Customs Policy and Member IR-Policy FBR will be co-Chairpersons. Other members include prominent businessmen from different Chambers of Commerce and trade bodies.
Members of the Anomaly Committee-Technical are Asif Haroon, AF Fergusons & Co, Karachi; Rana Munir Hussain, President All Pakistan Tax Bar Association; Ms. Sadia Nazeer, FCA, Partner KPMG, Islamabad; Shahzad Ahmed Malik, President ICMAP; Habib Fakhruddin CA; Rawalpindi; Saifullah, Partner Rafaqat Babar & Co. Peshawar; Kamal Hassan Siddiqui, Balochistan Tax Bar, Quetta and Tahir Mehmood Butt, Advocate.
Both the Committees have been duly notified by FBR and are required to submit their suggestions by June 19, 2023.
