LAHORE: The Punjab Excise, Taxation & Narcotics Control Department has intensified its recovery drive in a bid to achieve revenue targets by ensuring the recovery of arrears from tax payers.
In this regard, Director General Excise Punjab Muhammad Ali has established a central recovery monitoring cell, which will monitor the performance of employees throughout the province from 9 am to 9 pm seven days a week.
The head of Team-A will be Director Endorsement & Admin Sobia Malik while the head of Team-B will be Director Headquarters Fizza Shah.
DG Muhammad Ali said that the monitoring cell would take the daily recovery reports from the field directors. He said, "The cell will collect data, hold daily zoom meeting with directors and also check daily attendance of employees in the field through video calls. Daily management decisions will be taken on the basis of collected data and action will be taken against the employees for poor performance while cash rewards will be given to the employees for good performance."
Moreover, the recovery of motor vehicles tax defaulters has intensified and Director Region Lahore Mohammad Asif has received much applause from the departmental heads, sources said, adding: “The officers of other regions have been asked to follow the recovery pattern adopted by Mohammad Asif and his teams including MRA Mohammad Aslam Bhatti.
