The Sindh Assembly on Monday approved an adjournment motion with a unanimous vote to denounce the anti-Islam film. The lawmakers called for global legislation on blasphemy like the western nations have done against the denial of holocaust of Jews in Europe during World War II. The motion was tabled by Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM) during the Assembly session.
Speaking in support of the motion, Chief Minister Sindh, Syed Qaim Ali Shah condemned the anti-Islam filmmaker. He said the hate filmmaker hurts the feeling of Muslims in the world. He said Islam is the religion of peace and a glittering pathway for mankind. He urged the UN to take notice of the blasphemous movie . He said minorities in Pakistan also condemned the film. He also called upon the western countries to carry out legislations to protect the revered religious entities in their societies from defaming in the name of freedom of expression.
MQM's leader, Syed Sardar Ahmed also denounced the film. He said the hate movie hurt the feelings of 1.62 billion Muslims in the world. Sindh Excise Minister, Mukesh Chawla condemned the film, saying the religious minorities also are disturbed by the movie. He said the minorities also denounced the hate film, adding that they are supporting the Muslims' views on the issue. MQM's Faisal Sabzwari, PPP's Anwar Khan Mehar, Rafiq Engineer and Tauqeer Fatima Bhutto also expressed their views against Anti-Islam film.
