Thousands of workers hailing from different religious parties and DPC alliance factions participated in Difa-e-Pakistan Council "Hurmat-e-Rasool (PBUH)" march, held to denounce the anti-Islam film agitating Muslims around the world, and against the resumption of Nato supplies, drone attacks and military operation in Fata.
The DPC march started from Al-Markaz-e-Islami, Jamaat-i-Islami (JI) Provincial Head Office, after passing through Sher Shah Suri Road it moved towards Jamrud Phatak near Karkhano market in Peshawar. More than 20,000 people belonging to religious parties, DPC alliance factions and different walk of life participated in the rally.
The protesters were holding placards and banners inscribed with slogans against the US President, American priest and blasphemous movie makers. Waving off their party flags, the protesters were also chanted full-throated slogans against the US government and contemptuous film makers. They also raised slogans "Nara-e-Takbeer Allah-o-Akbar", and there is only one solution to the American 'pigs' Al-Jihad Al-Jihad.
The protest rally reached Spen Jumaat at University road, and after travelling 10 to 12 kilometres distance, turned into a protest procession. The DPC rally was addressed by main leadership of various religious parties including Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam-Sami (JUI-S) Chief and Chairman DPC Maulana Samiul Haq, Jamaat-i-Islami (JI) Central Ameer Syed Munawar Hassan, former Inter Services Intelligence (ISI) chief General Hameed Gul (Retd), Jamatud Dawa Chief Hafiz Saeed, Ahl-e-Sunnat Wal Jamaat Ameer Maulana Ahmad Ludhyanvi and Ansaarul Umma Central Ameer Fazlur Rahman Khalil.
Addressing the protestors DPC Chairman Maulana Samiul Haq said, "Today a large number of protestors by holding peaceful protest against blasphemous movie, repelled the negative propaganda against Muslims." He said the crusade wars were always being started after attacking the sanctity of the Holy Prophet Muhammad (PBUH). In the like situations we all have to unite against the anti-Islam forces, which were busy in hatching conspiracies against Islam and Muslims of the world," he urged. The Jamaatud Dawa Ameer Hafiz Saeed said the US imposed war against Muslims in Afghanistan in the name of 'war against terrorism' in which thousands of innocent people were killed. He said DPC was constituted against the Nato supplies, the US interference in Pakistan's affairs and declaring India as a most favoured state, but "today we have a very crucial problem of the sanctity of the Holy Prophet (PBUH)."
Similarly, JI Central Chief Syed Munawar Hassan said Western World by pressing the rulers of the Muslim countries tried to de-track from the true religion, in which they would never be succeeded. "We will never compromise even to render sacrifices of our lives and properties," he vowed. ISI former chief General Hameed Gul said it was the matter of love with the Holy Prophet Muhammad (PBUH), and the entire Muslim Umma had been united against the blasphemers, and asked to handover the satanic priest to us.
