ISLAMABAD: Finance Minister Ishaq Dar emphasized receiving a roadmap with timelines for moving forward on a fast-track for outsourcing the first airport in order to improve service delivery and match the best international aviation practices in Pakistan.

The minister chaired a meeting of the Steering Committee to oversee the outsourcing of airports’ operations, here on Wednesday.

Airports’ outsourcing: Dar-led body takes decisions on roadmap

Federal Minister for Aviation and Railways Khawaja Saad Rafique, SAPM on Finance Tariq Bajwa, SAPM on Government Effectiveness Dr Muhammad Jehanzeb Khan, aviation authorities, the IFC team, and senior officers from the Finance Division attended the meeting.

During the meeting, the IFC transaction advisor briefed the meeting on the latest status and progress on the matter.

Outosurce everuthing in this govt.Than only it can work.we have too many political workers getting jobs and than getting pensions.Time to sell or outsource PIA,Steel mills,State life and all other govt based businesses.

Haha Ishaq Dard at it again - outsourcing your airport, taking a large chunk for a property building in France and then leaving it to the wolves...while the Butcher of Gujurat pushes ahead with "made in India", our clowns here want to be puppets and slaves..khud kerlo bhai, make pakistan world class...too bad our citizens and leaders hardly have any...class

I hope outsourcing is done in a transparent manner and a good deal is negotiated for the country. Any foreign exchange dividends to be sent out of the country need to be covered by earnings in foreign exchange, by those who win the contract. The outsourcing must be done by comparing how much money other such efforts round the world are making and use this as a benchmark for the minimum bid that will be accepted.
