Federal Minister for Information Qamar Zaman Kaira has said that the Frontier Corps (FC) can only be withdrawn from Balochistan if Nawaz takes the responsibility of the situation. He was talking to media at the Allama Iqbal International Airport on Tuesday morning. Federal Minister for Religious Affairs Khursheed Shah was also accompanying him on the occasion.
Kaira ruled out pulling out the FC from Balochistan, criticising Nawaz Sharif for his careless attitude towards the national issues. He said the government has always owned up mistakes made in the past, even if they were made by previous leaderships. My party has been doing this in order to prevent any damage caused to Pakistan's image.
The Federal Minister said issues of national importance should not be politicised for political gains. Only 5 percent area is settled and 95 percent area was being controlled through FC in Balochistan, he said. On the creation of Southern Punjab province, Kaira said the PML-N assumed silence when the commission was set up though no commission was required as per the constitution of the country.
