Taiwan stocks closed up 0.56 percent on Tuesday, joining other Asian bourses in gains, with HTC Corp and Mediatek, the top two most-traded stocks in the session, up 1.55 percent and 3.04 percent respectively. The main TAIEX index rose 42.96 points to 7,718.68, after opening up 0.36 percent. The glass and ceramics sub-index was the top gainer.
Electronics shares advanced 0.79 percent, while financial counters were up 0.6 percent. The Taiwan dollar was up by T$0.122 to trade at T$29.280.
