Delineate effective strategy, PM asks finance minister

ISLAMABAD: Caretaker Prime Minister Anwaar-ul-Haq Kakar on Monday directed the Ministry of Finance to devise an effective strategy to bring economic stability in the country.

Shamshad says not in position to entertain any expenditure request

The prime minister said this in a meeting with Interim Finance Minister Shamshad Akhtar who called on him here. The finance minister also briefed the prime minister on the current economic situation in the country.

Ina short term of 6 month only (care-taker PM); a milestone towards corruption eradication will be to eliminate smuggling and drainage of Forex specially dollar. Former Chairman yesterday in Kamran Khan show emphasized that Forex only be dealt through nationalized banks and all exchange companies should be banned. For reducing smuggling he advised the elevation of PRAL i/o FBR and close checking on the 6 bridges of River Indus carrying smuggled goods to other parts.
