A 4-week course in basic engineering concepts today concluded at WAPDA Administrative College. The course - the first of its kind - was jointly organised by WAPDA and Ghulam Ishaque Khan (GIK) Institute of Engineering Sciences and Technology. The course was primarily designed to acquaint the non-engineering professionals with basic engineering concepts and practices.
The participants belonging to various formations were imparted training by a combination of academicians and field engineers through five specialised course modules. WAPDA Chairman Raghib Shah was the Chief Guest at the closing ceremony. Speaking on the occasion, the Chairman said that WAPDA has taken the lead to improve the professional skills of the non-engineering managers by initiating standardised course. He said that such courses would prove to be instrumental in capacity building of the professionals. Congratulating the participants on successful completion of the course, the Chairman expressed the hope that they would effectively capitalise on their skills acquired through the course in discharging their professional duties.
In his welcome address, WAPDA Member (Power) Muhammad Qasim Khan, termed the course a significant achievement towards capacity building of the non-engineering professionals. He appreciated the management and faculty of the GIK Institute and WAPDA Administrative Staff College for organising the course successfully. Earlier, WAPDA Chairman gave away medals to the position holders and certificates to the participants of the course.
