Amir Jamaat-i-Islami Pakistan Munawar Hassan will distribute cheques among more than 200 affected families of Baldia Town factory blaze on Wednesday (today) at Idara Noor-e-Haq. The JI has set up a relief fund for the affected families of the factory fire victims with an initial amount of Rs 5 million, the JI spokesman said.
He said that people continue contributing to the fund through their charities across the country. "Philanthropists in the country are still contributing to the fund," he added. General Secretary JI Karachi Naseem Siddiqui termed the factory blaze which claimed over 250 precious lives of poor labourers a "haunting tragedy," saying the inferno affected hundreds of families. He said the JI has played its key role to support the affected families. "The JI will continue supporting the affected families in future as well," he said.
