The Board of Directors of Pakistan Steel Mills (PSM) on Monday approved CBA Charter of Demand and a proposal for enhancement of officers' salaries and other benefits, in its meeting held in Islamabad. The PSM spokesman sad that the mills' current management under the leadership of its Chief Executive Officer Major General Mohammad Javed (Retd) was working hard for the stability of the national institution by increasing its production, besides making efforts for the welfare of its employees.
He said that on the instruction of President Asif Ali Zardari, the federal government had already granted Rs 3 billion to PSM to ease the financial impact of the approvals. The formal approval of the CoD and the proposal for officers' welfare had ended all baseless rumours and negative propaganda by few elements who wanted to disturb the organisation's peaceful environment, the spokesman said. He said that now it was the duty and responsibility of each and every employee of PSM to work hard towards improvement of the mills' production capacity.-PR
