CFO Conference 2024: Message from Muhammad Aurangzaib, Federal Minister for Finance and Revenue, Pakistan
I extend my congratulations to the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Pakistan, for hosting the ICAP-CFO Conference. This conference stands as one of Pakistan’s foremost financial industry events, providing a platform for distinguished national and international experts, key opinion leaders, and academia to share their invaluable insights.
The accounting profession is facing significant changes worldwide. It is built on strong values like ethics, trust, and integrity, and it's committed to serving the public and keeping the economy sustainable. Despite today's complex economic challenges, accountants are demonstrating resilience by adapting and evolving.
I am pleased to note that this year’s CFO conference theme, “Curating Responsible Growth: Innovate, Illuminate, and Integrate," encapsulates the imperative for businesses to pursue growth strategies that not only maximize profitability but also focus on bringing stability to their respective organizations. This year’s conference will explore the multifaceted roles and responsibilities of Business and Finance Leaders during uncertain times.
I am confident that this conference will foster a greater appreciation of the critical importance of CFOs in navigating complex economic landscapes, particularly in the face of mounting challenges. I look forward to the insights and outcomes of the conference, which will undoubtedly have a positive impact on the profession as a whole.
I am delighted to learn of ICAP’s initiative to host the second edition of the Professional Excellence Awards (PEA). Following last year's remarkable success, the PEA continues its tradition of honoring the exceptional contributions of ICAP members to the global business landscape. This commendable endeavor underscores the importance of recognizing and celebrating the achievements of ICAP members who have demonstrated outstanding leadership skills and made significant impacts on their respective industries. I extend my best wishes to ICAP for the success of this initiative and eagerly await news of the winners' accomplishments.
Finally, I express my gratitude to Mr. Farrukh Rehman, President ICAP, Mr. Samiullah Siddiqui, Chairman PAIB Committee ICAP and all individuals involved in organizing this event. My appreciation extends to all those who have dedicated their time and efforts to ensure the success of this conference and the PEA ceremony.
